Moonlight Memorial Monument
Ride
Saturday, May 14th
START: PAC Hostel - 11th & K St, NW
Gather 8:00PM - Rides starts at 8:30 PM
See our Nation's Capital as few have. Moonrise is 5:17 PM, so
the moon should be very helpful. From the Capitol to the
Washington Monument, from the Lincoln Memorial to Hains Point on
the banks of the shimmering moonlit Potomac. Illuminated
granite, quiet streets, easy parking, and low traffic will make
for a memorable experience. Participants will be given a cue
sheet and receive emergency mechanical support from roving
mechanics on bikes, but organizers request that bikes be in
working shape before beginning the 15 mile ride. The ride is
free of charge, but we are raising funds for the Potomac Area
Council of the non-profit Hosteling International (formerly AYH),
and encourage you to consider making a donation (recommended
$10).
Bikes must be equipped with working lights, and organizers will
have some available at discounts from $9. Support and healthy
pre ride snacks and drinks will be provided by Mt Airy Bicycles
/ College Park Bicycles. Hostel is at 11th & K St NW, near the
McPherson Square Metro .Linda and Larry Black [larry@bike123.com]
