Attention all you adventurers out there!  We call ourselves "Tandem Energy,"
* *and we are about to take you on the ride of a lifetime.  We're traveling
coast to coast across the United States cruising at tandem bicycle speeds
and turning the country upside down with a few hundred handstands all while
maintaining a focus on raising funds for charities.

Your captain for this adventure is Mary Thompson, a native of New Hampshire
but current resident of Crownsville, Maryland.  Consider yourself lucky if
you see her not standing on her hands.  Your stoker is Renata Roxbury, a
native of New Jersey but current resident of a beautiful chalet on top of a
mountain in Utah.  Our vehicle - hand picked for its quality and test driven
by your captain - is a Cannondale Road Tandem 2,* *an American tandem
equipped and ready for a very American adventure.  Our route is the
Adventure Cycling Association's TransAmerica trail beginning in Yorktown,
Virginia and ending in Astoria, Oregon.
